Goals for 2018

I've finally sat down and thought seriously about what I want to achieve in 2018. Here it goes...

Be more creative.

I am always striving to be more creative, whether this is in the things I already do, or whether that's learning new crafts. This year, I want to bite the bullet and do more 'art'. I can't draw and I've never painted so I never feel confident enough to actually try stuff out. I always think you've got to be perfect at something to be able to do it. But, obviously, this isn't the case. So, this year, I'm going to try practice as much as possible and just enjoy creating stuff.

I've just signed up for Skillshare, which is a platform with thousands of online videos and tutorials led by experts in their field. I watched a video on how to watercolour earlier today and have already been super inspired to try it out myself.

Get stronger.

I spent 2017 getting into a really good routine at the gym. But, my friend and I perhaps got into 'too good' of a routine and ended up doing a very similar workout every time we went. I did lose weight and get fitter, but this year, we're both determined to take it to the next level.

Although I've never been a fan of getting hot and sweaty, I've come to realise that exercise is fantastic for my own mental health. And, by teaming up with my pal, it's a social occasion too.

Have less.

I also spent a lot of 2017 decluttering. I still have a long way to go, but I really want to kick the habit of buying 'stuff' to make me happy. Instead, I'm going to continue to spend my money and time on experiences with people I love.

Live consciously.

As you may have noticed, I have been trying to become more conscious of what products I buy and use. I really want to continue this journey in 2018 and discover new ways on how to reduce waste and lessen my impact on the planet.

Travel is on everyone's bucket list. Whilst it's certainly on mine, I want to make the point of seeing more, whether that's abroad or on my doorstep. Last year, there were so many events in Hull due to it being UK City of Culture 2017. I want to continue experiencing new things, seeing more stuff and trying new things that I never thought I'd do.
