Five to Make Feb Fab

February 2018 Review

Achieving little things every month is the way I'm going to smash 2018. Here are some small goals I want to continue to work towards in February.

Learn to switch off.

Taking a proper break is something I’ve always struggled with. And, being a freelancer without set office hours, I do struggle to fully switch off. After spending 9-10 hours at work, I usually spend my spare time either thinking about work or doing small work-related tasks, like admin and checking emails.

This month, I’m going to make more of an effort to stick to the 9-5 (or rather 8:30am-6pm for me) and make the most of my rest time. I’m having a week’s holiday with my Mum, so this should help a lot.

Cut down on one-time-use plastic.

Reducing the amount of plastic I waste is something that I’ve been trying to achieve for a long time. I’ve saved up some money and bought some handy items, such as reusable makeup remover pads, a metal straw and some fabric food wraps to replace the plastic/cotton alternatives that I use once and then chuck away.

Continue getting fitter.

Towards the end of last year, I fell off the health bandwagon and paid the price in January. I’ve spent the month feeling sluggish, tired and overweight. I’m determined to keep up my gym routine and (relatively) healthy eating - even after my holiday!

Try to focus on one thing at a time.

Again, being self-employed it’s really hard to stay focused on one task at a time. Often, I begin one task and someone is emailing me, calling me or asking me about another. This leaves me feeling overwhelmed and like I’m not on top of everything. This month, I really do need to learn some methods on how to only concentrate on one thing at a time.

Pack my bag the night before.

This isn’t really a goal, but I think it will definitely help me achieve them. When I was at school, my Mum always made me pack my bag the evening before. And, let’s face it, most Mothers do know best. I’m praying that it will help me feel less rushed in the mornings and ready to smash the day.

What do you want to achieve in February?
